Balsicas is a hamlet belonging to the municipality of Torre Pacheco in the Region of Murcia . It has a population of 3214 inhabitants ( INE 2019 ).

The village was formed in the fifteenth century and owes its name to the rafts that were of Muslim origin. It has a certain historical heritage such as the Castle of Ros , located near the church, in the center. 

The patron saint festivities of Balsicas, begin every year on October 22, since the day of the patron saint, the Virgen del Rosario coincides with the fiestas of Torre Pacheco . His Holy Week parades are held since 1987 .

It has a train station called “Balsicas-Mar Menor” that allows the railway communication of the Mar Menor Region with the rest of Spain . At the entrance to the town, a petrol station is located and the exit to the south faces the San Javier highway. Balsicas has two industrial estates.
