Sonrisa is based on Camposol close to the Spanish town of Mazarron on the Costa Calida - the 'Warm Coast', so called because it is sheltered by the mountains, providing temperatures that rarely dip below 30˚c in the summer and average 18˚c in the winter.Camposol is a modern residential area centred around a challenging 18 hole golf course.

Coast / Beach

Percheles is a fantastic beach with perfect sands. This wide, fan-shaped beach is flanked by pretty palm trees. Apparently, it is an ideal spot for fishing.

Golf

Right on the doorstep is Sensol Golf on Camposol. From our roof terrace you can see the golfers playing just across the road. Anyone can use the clubhouse for snacks and dining. In addition to the bar and restaurant, the clubhouse also features a snooker room, pool room, and golf shop.Next door to the clubhouse is a 160 room 4 star hotel with fantastic spa and restaurant facilities, open to all. Hotel Sensol opened in 2008 and is a complex of buildings surrounding a tropical swimming pool. Other Golf Courses There there are some very established golf courses along the Costa Calida coastline. If coupled with the neighbouring Costa Blanca, the golfing market here is now hot on the heels (if not rivalling) that of the Costa del Sol and the Algarve. A great selection of courses are available ranging from easy to difficult and cheap to expensive.

Travel

The closest airport is San Javier in Murcia. It is about a 50 minute drive to the villa, on very good roads. Alicante airport is just another 20 minutues away and between them there is a good choice of value airlines. A new airport is being built even closer than San Javier. We hope that it will be completed some time in 2010, but in the meantime, the others are still very convenient.

From department stores to markets - spend however you want For smart shopping go to Murcia or Cartagena. You'll find the department store El Corte Ingles in both cities, along with other interesting Spanish shops. City Shopping Out of Town Thader is a large shopping centre about a 30 minute drive on the edge of Murcia city (junction 763a off the A7), with shops such as: Zara IKEA Sephora Pull & Bear Benetton Mango Locally Locally there are markets at Mazarron on Saturdays and Puerto de Mazarron on Sundays.

Distances

The spanish town of Mazarron and the port, Puerto de Mazarron, are a short drive away (about 15 mins). At the port there is a marina and resaurants and there are several beautiful beaches along the coast. A little further around the bay to the north, is La Azohia which is perfect for snorkelling and scuba diving; whilst a few minutes drive in the other direction will bring you to Bolnuevo with its enchanting natural sandstone sculptures and beautiful sandy beach. Local Amenities Although in a rural setting, Camposol has all the necessary local services within walking distance including:Murcia - capital city of the region. An area rich in archaeological sites.Aguilas – A fishing port along the coast towards Andalucia. There is also a beach area and promenade separated from the port by the castle of San Juan de las Aguilas. Around the Sierra Espuña national park, there are a number of small towns that show the slower pace of life in Murcia eg. Aledo, Mula, Pliego, Alhama de Murcia and Totana. Totana is excellent for catching trains to both Murcia and Lorca. The station is on the road leading into the town (take a left turn towards the carpark). The designated Natural Park, the Sierra de Espuña is a perfect location for walkers and nature lovers. There is a huge variety of plant and animal life and visitors may be lucky enough to see a wild boar, a mountain cat or maybe an eagle. The best place to begin a visit to the Sierra de Espuña is the visitors centre - here you will be able to pick up maps of the area, information and guides to the various walking trails. There are a large number of walking trails for walkers of all capabilities. The best way to get to the Sierra de Espuña is via the town of Alhama de Murcia. This road takes you to the visitors centre and onwards into the park itself. The water park (Aqua Natura) is part of the zoo Terra Natura near the city of Murcia and is 30,000 square metres, split into three different areas: ◦one with 10 slides ◦the more relaxing 'lazy river' ◦the swimming pool (separate children's pool) ◦restaurants and bars ◦supermarkets ◦internet cafe ◦petrol station ◦banks ◦pharmacy

Booking Notes

A £50 deposit will secure your booking and the balance is due 8 weeks prior to your stay. These payments may be made by electronic transfer from your bank account, Paypal or cheque. A 70 euros cleaning and laundry charge is payable to our representative on arrival in cash. A security deposit of 130 euros is also payable on arrival in cash (to cover any accidental damage) and will be returned on day of departure if no damages occur. Long Term rental is available (over 4 weeks), rates negotiable. Will suit those looking to try the area before buying or waiting for properties to be built.
